Astrid & Gastón, Miraflores 

Gastón Acurio with his wife opened their first restaurant in 1994 and the couple now owns a whole chain of restaurants throughout South America. The menu serves a large variety of traditional food including Andean lamb, confit of paiche, Peruvian style tubers curry, vegetables, herbs, grains and spices dished up with quinoa.

Perroquet, San Isidro is a colonial-style restaurant serving authentic Peruvian cuisine. Do try the sea bass ceviche, trio of causa (yellow potato mash), lomo saltado (stir-fried beef, Chifa-style) or fillet of chita.

Mesa 18, Miraflores

Mesa 18 is situated in the Belmond Miraflores Park. This restaurant is known for gyoza (dumplings made of shrimp and pork), ceviche maki and avocado hidden in fish slices marinated in chili and lime juice.

Rafael, Miraflores 

Rafael, Miraflores may be one of your best culinary experiences in Peru (Lima). It serves a fusion of Peruvian and Mediterranean food. Rafael Osterling, owner of the restaurant, has established this food-house in a 1920s building with modern décor. The main menu includes a North Peruvian stew of grouper cheeks served with confit potatoes, calamari and vongole, and a Peruvian dish that includes puy lentils, rice with foie gras (pan-fried), scallops, river shrimp and banana (roasted).

La Nueva Palomino, Arequipa

La Nueva Palomino, Arequipa is a restaurant taking Peruvian food to its roots. The restaurant has a rich history, dating as long ago as 1890s. Everything is hand-cooked, on log fires. A batán is used in the place of modern blenders. From chupe de camarones with quinoa to rocoto relleno, their cuisine is widely exotic.
